Discussion Of Fastow's 'Power In The Film'
In my heart I truly believe that Fastow is changing his view and trying to change his view on money the the wanter the power that comes with that. In the movie we see the over powered jerk of a guy that is patrolled to be Fastow. but after prison listening to his story an how he goes around to not only try and help the people that he destroyed but to tell kids to not make the same mistakes that he did. Shows to me that he understands what he did was wrong and that he wants to move on and do the right thing.

In the movie we see a mean overpowered version of fastow. He is obsessed with money and power. He will do anything to get that power this even comes to lying to the people of the company to buy up the stock when he was selling his knowing the company was going down. He was lying to the public and hiding the scary truth about the company. The reason for all of this was for the power and the money the feeling of being on top.

He has served his time for the crimes he was charged with but instead of that being enough for him and just living on his life. The reading shows that he is now trying to make a difference. He is going to give speeches to kids expressing what he did and why they where wrong. Giving kids the mind set to be the better person in the world of business. It also shows in the reading that Fastow is knowledgeable about the crimes he committed and understand that they where wrong saying that company today are doing a lot worse things then Enron ever

Kathryn Bigelow, director of The Hurt Locker could have never imagined her movie winning six academy awards. While the opinion from the audience played a role in these winnings, the technical aspect of the movie all the way down to the first shot of the movie, played the biggest role in this achievement. Bigelow used things such as moving camera shots, camera angles, lighting, and the use of long shots to create a realistic feel throughout the movie.…

    2. When we think about doctors and nurses in the health care profession our hope for us or a loved one is to receive the best care as possible. In health care we encounter many providers who have different views and attitudes toward patients. Professor Vivian Bearing is a well-respected 17th Century English poetry scholar. She is told that she has stage four metastatic ovarian cancer, by a fellow college Dr. Harvey Kelekian; who has asked Vivian for research purposes if she would be willing to undergo an aggressive 8 month chemo treatment. In the play/movie Wit, we quickly see the differences between the two health care professionals; one is a former student of Professor Bearings, Dr. Jason Posner who is Dr. Kelekian’s lead research fellow,…

Ruth Park’s Australian literary classic, Playing Beatie Bow (1980), highlights how we can arrive at a more empathetic and tolerant view of the world, once we are able to interact in our relationships with a greater degree a perspicacity and altruism, and move away from a self-interest and mean-spirited approach to life. One of the main themes Ruth Park displays is a change in behaviour in children but especially Abigail. She shows her developing perspicacity, altruism and empathy for others.…

Hopefully one day I will be able to gain the knowledge and confidence to become a role model. Moore still looks at the world and points out its wrongness. Moore mentioned on twitter that “It seems that street persons are exploiting technology to advance crime faster than educators are to improve teaching and learning.” His main focus is still to help others. I was once told you don’t make a difference helping yourself, but you do when you help others. William E. Moore will forever be known because even after his job is done, his name will live…

I absolutely LOVE this book. In my opinion, one of the biggest lessons that Grant learned came from the Pastor. He taught Grant that being a man isn't always about acting like the "toughest" or the "strongest" person. Sometimes a man's role is to bring comfort to those he loves by doing what they need him to do. That's the reason Grant actually agrees to go to the prison regularly because it will bring some comfort to his aunt.…

The article presents various ethical issues but the issue that stood out was the restricting of opioid use. This is a controversial topic in our country as it is estimated that 1.9 million Americans have a substance use disorder involving opioids (National Institute on Drug Abuse). Dr. Wergin faces an uncomfortable situation being the only physician in Milford and having to directly deal with the limitations on prescription opioids. He understands that while not every patient is an addict or drug seekers, it can be difficult to distinguish sometimes due to pain being subjective. He wants to be able to prescribe opioids for the patients that truly require it such as Mr. Filbert, whose pain has resisted five surgeries. The federal government…

He talked about how we truly won’t be free until we change the narrative. He spoke about how we must do what is uncomfortable and inconvenient to us to create change, to change this narrative of social and racial injustice that we see in America. This narrative, unfortunately, will follow many even with the degree or the job they have achieved. He then said something that struck me, “Slavery didn’t end, it just evolved,” something we all know to be true, but are too afraid to admit. This slavery has evolved to domestic terrorism, that has long existed, against African Americans. He also mentioned that the opposite of poverty isn’t wealth like everyone thinks it is, it is rather justice and that “each of us is more than the worst thing we’ve done,” something that justice requires us to see, justice requires us to see the other side of the argument instead of tossing it aside for someone else and that hopelessness is the opposite of justice, Bryan Stevenson’s work has inspired many including myself, but his words shook my inner core, shook me to be hopeful and to do what is uncomfortable and inconvenient in order to make the world a better safer place for not only this generation, but for the coming…

There was one aspect of the movie I quickly agreed with at the ending. “We cant keep doing what were doing.” What needs to be focus on is how we can prevent crime, specifically drug crime. This means an overall of the Criminal Justice system. Julie Stewart advocates for 'Families Against Mandatory Minimums' and I agree with the moment shes trying to pass. Were filling our jail and prisons with low level offenders. As a result were perpetuating the cycle as kids see their parents go off to jail, and these youths thinking they too at some point in their future wind up behind bars. A man at the begining of the film said his role models were thugs and gang bangers, that it was the only way to make decent money. Another important thing that stood out to me is when an inmate said, once we get out we still have to check off the prison felony box on resumes. It's like these offenders cant escape even after they have done their time, as as I result I too feel the entirely of the criminal justice system needs to be reworked if we want to get…

    Curtis Snow

One good quality that I saw in the beginning of the film was when someone else was selling drugs on his turf , instead of going straight over there and handling his business he made sure to get his facts straight, and not just assume anything before he planned his attack. To some it would seem that the simple fact that he went over there to shoot at someone is bad, but when you look at it in another perspective, he could have been mistakenly shot someone who had nothing to do with the drug dealing business. In a society like that dealers no whether or not they can sell drugs on a particular turf so in hindsight they may have gotten what they deserve. Also we can assume that they too have taken out people for the same reason, and it was just karma coming back to them. Another thing that was shown in the film is Curtis Snow being a not so bad father. In a society like that we so often see men not even taking a second look at their children let alone them spending any kind of quality time with them. So for snow to take the time every now and then to visit his son and spend that quality time with him,…
