Introduction
Today, globalization is a common stage in a company’s life; indeed a lot of companies trade across borders. Globalization allows companies to make more profit, and also conquer new markets and attract new customers. But going global is not an easy thing to do, indeed companies cannot just export their whole corporate culture and concepts abroad; they must adapt to the local culture of the host country.
That is why it is very important for companies to train their international managers to give them more chances to succeed in developing strategies and working with people from different cultural and social backgrounds to ensure the company successful experience on foreign markets.
Among the different domains to be aware of, managers must carefully analyze social, economic and political contexts, as well as the legal environment of the host country targeted. By doing this, managers will do what is called a country profile1; it allows anticipating and finding solutions to important differences the company may encounter in the host country. To summarize, they must be aware of the cultural differences of the host country and adapt their policies and behavior; this is called the “cultural sensitivity” 2 which is a key point in a company’s
