I chose to draw tree in both realities. The trees are opposite to each other and are paradoxes. While each reality has trees, one reality has a tree made up of wood planks and the other reality has a fence made up of trees. I chose to draw that because the fence is normally made up of wood planks and a tree is just a tree, but the inverse is an example of distortion of reality. Another part of the drawing is the skeleton children being happy, while the living are crying. I learned that the tragedy of Macbeth is more than the plot, but exploring how misconceptions affect people and outcomes. I learned that the witches used Macbeth’s misconceptions of their prophecies to mislead him into his whole journey of becoming king and loosing his power. The witches also impact Lady Macbeth because she also changes her persona to attempt to fit the witches prophecies. I also learned about artistic interpretations while making my drawing. Throughout reading Macbeth in class we watched videos of different scenes from different movies of Macbeth and talked about the different producers take on the play. While making my drawing and figuring out what I wanted to use to represent certain things I had to make sure that it would be understood by almost everyone and that there was a deeper meaning behind some of the pieces. Similarly to the book I learned that the best pieces of art have multiple interpretations and twist, which keep things interesting and diverse for
