At first, DJ-ing wasn’t the record scratching act as it is now. It was hip-hop DJ, Kool Herc of the 1970’s who started the technique of playing two tracks at once (“Early”). This use of two turntables has made DJ-ing what it is today. The whole art and concept behind performance is now built upon changing tracks between two or four decks.
