There I found a lot of articles from The Huffington Post and Washington Post. The American journal of Public Health was very interesting as it fairly related issues of racism and biases blacks experience to public health. In attempts to truly answer the question “Do Black Lives Matter”, on an effective approach of using a public health agenda, guided by the principles of social justice and equity, can provide promising prospects to change current injustices. The Washington Post had articles in which I can draw different points from as the focuses in each varied in terms of the aspects focused on. I found other primary sources for background information from the internet – Black Lives Matter website that gave me the detailed purpose and cause of the whole Black Lives Matter movement.
IV. WHAT YOU HOPE TO LEARN
I hope to learn and understand exactly how the movement goes about broadening the conversation around state violence to include all of the ways in which Black people are intentionally left powerless at the hands of the state. The evidence that supports the injustice treatment Blacks encounter not only by police, but by the white society too. Also, how they plan to ensure that Black lives are no longer deprived of basic human rights and dignity. However, I do expect to encounter many difficulties because this is such a topic where not much research
