i. In the past few decades racism seems to be sparking up much conflict due to many police brutality cases that involve white on black occurrences. ii. From Rodney King to Michael Brown, these cases have been around for a long time and are now being heavily emphasized by society.

1. Black 25 year-old male died while in police custody from critical spinal injury induced by 6 officers, of which three were white and three were black.

i. The Wall Street Journal journalist Jason L. Riley discusses how a movement (#blacklivesmatter) began due from a racist comprehension of a case involving a white cop and black victim. ii. He also states facts that statistically demonstrate how cases as such are not as often as society has makes it seem. iii. Utilizes quotes from accredited people to support his argument
1. South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley says “Black lives do matter, and they have been disgracefully jeopardized by the movement that has laid waste to Ferguson and Baltimore.” iv. Activists glorify these cases and are altering society’s perspective, which has law-enforcement officials believing it links to the increase in homicides among cities throughout the U.S.
