After reading the "Do it Better" handout in class my views on how anyone can improve in school and life have changed drastically. With my experiences in life my mindset in how important school education is changed how I view learning. Getting an education to me is very important because I think people who are educated do better in life and are more wealthy. Some people need someone or something to help them build confidence in many aspects of life. For example, when I was in high school my parents reminded me that getting a high school diploma is very important and I was determined to graduate. It's very important to take responsibility, for what's given to you. In order to take responsibility you have to take advantage, of all opportunities. Eventually, future generations will be held accountable of how the nation we live in will be constructed. Education is key to success because it opens up doors for people of all backgrounds, and it expands the human mind with knowledge. The highly vast education gained through education prepares others to solve problems, teach another and most importantly function at a higher level. Learning is a huge aspect of life and is extremely important. Learning is mentioned in many book and magazine or journal articles like “The Cave” (Plato, 360 B.C.E), “The Value of a Liberal-Arts Education” (Jill Tiefenthaler), “A Liberal Arts Degree Is More Important Than Ever” (Willard Dix), and “The Bear” (William Faulkner). Learning is something that people should do through all of their lives not just in school or work. Learning helps changes how you see the world and how you grow as an individual and helps you live more positive and successful lives.…

I strongly believe that people need a formal education to succeed. The education process is essential to the positive growth of our minds and our personalities. Education serves as the exercise that our brains need to become fully functional. Marian Cleeves Diamond writes, the nerve cells have more dendrites in college-educated people than in people with only a high school education. In addition, education helps to form and grow our personalities. The education process helps to give us the information and discipline that we need to shape our values and morals. If the education process was out of the equation then students would have to fend for themselves to learn these things. That can be a scary proposition depending on where they turn to.…

Failing elementary school changed my whole look out on life. It taught me that giving up will only result in a colorless conclusion. That if you don't even try you won't know about all the marvelous outcomes that could have happened. It made me work harder so that I don't fall down that path again. It instead of just trying to slide by, you should give your all and…

Another reason schooling is valuable for a person's future is because it teaches them the skills they need to know. Firstly, school teaches us the skill of reading. One example of how reading helps us can be seen from the fact that people need to be able to read both to find jobs in the classifieds, and to properly fill out job application forms. Obviously, without reading, this would be very difficult to do. A second ability that school provides us with…

As John Dewey said, education is not a preparation for life, it is life itself. So as much as we value life, we must be directed towards valuing the importance of education for it is an essential tool that will guide us in hurdling our struggles in life. Education then makes itself essential in life for it gives us knowledge of the world around us. It develops in us a perspective of looking at life. It primarily helps us build opinions and have points of view on things in life. The importance of education relates to the equipping ourselves of the needed criteria that would make our dreams come true. It opens doors to brilliant career opportunities. Taking into consideration the observations that we may gather from our society nowadays, the lack of relaying to the younger generations the importance of education has not only been an issue locally, but also on the national scale. With the emerging problem on reaching higher educational success for the younger generations, the future of this nation is at stake. Also, parents have difficulty in monitoring their children’s attendance in school. More and more of the younger generations at the present time would prefer to mingle outside the campus and cutting classes rather than using their time in attaining knowledge that they can use in different aspects of their life while their parents are not aware of it.…

Nationalized tests are tests that students are forced to take at the end of every school year for the classes that are required to be passed in order to graduate high school. Failing a nationalized test will result in a student having to either take the same class the next year, or the student being held back and having to repeat the grade. Because these tests are such a huge deal, the students are put under a lot of pressure and that usually causes the students to develop test anxiety if they do not already have it. Also, the fact that not all students are on the same intelligence level can prove the nationalized tests as inaccurate because all of the tests are the same and are set to a certain standard that not all students can achieve. However, with that being said, I do believe that some of the students that are not on the same intelligence level as others have sometimes done it to themselves by being irresponsible and careless.…

I used to waste my hour-a-day chore time at home listening and singing along to poor pointless pop music before I made the transformation. Somewhere along the slipping grades, I realized I needed to change that hour into a time of productivity for my schoolwork. I soon started listening to lectures for classes of mine and my grades started improving. I began transforming into a better student, which made me wonder why I wanted to become a better student. Students should become better in their studies to achieve higher self-esteem about themselves and their education, to help themselves financially, and to challenge themselves to become critical thinkers, creative individuals, better problem solvers, and hard workers to prepare themselves for the future. Wondering and figuring out why I wanted to become a better student continued me on my path of improvement. With reasons to back me up, I felt the need to improve myself in order to become a better student.…

Nowadays, there are thousands of ways for people to expose themselves to knowledge. Getting more and more knowledge has always been human’s desire. Schooling, therefore, is now becoming more and more popular. However, many people think that things learned in school are not enough for a person’s education. In my opinion, what we experience through real life would outweigh things that we are taught in school for two main reasons: the practicality and the preparation for life’s success.…

For me, education is the key to success. It took me awhile to fully believe in that statement. It took years of me failing classes and getting suspended all the way up to my high points of getting honor roll and maintaining straight A’s. I am proud to say today that I am finally on the road to success. Some learned experiences that shaped me to be on this path of achievement today: moving from state to state, making the wrong kind of friends and lastly, my supportive parents who have pushed me to be the best.…

Growing up, my parents always told me that the key to having a successful life was through an education. My father and I have viewed the importance of an education very differently. My dad graduated high school with his diploma at almost the top of his class. Unlike me, who barely completed high school and ended up testing out with my GED. Right after high school, he went to college at Western Washington University, graduating with his Bachelor's degree in Audio Visual and Communications. On the contrary, I joined the military and went into the medical field. I am now almost 24-years-old and going to a community college.…
