To what extent do religions and traditions intervene in our society as conflicts?
Religion plays a very important part in any individual’s life. May the person be rich or poor his religion is one of the basic things that shapes that individual’s life, restricts him from doing certain activities, gives him festivals to celebrate and gives him a particular guideline of his culture as well as traditions to follow. By what is stated in the previous sentence religions seem almost inoffensive. However the difference of religions, difference of traditions, and difference of beliefs are one of the main reasons of unbalance in our societies.

The nation isn’t known for its universal acceptance but in fact it is a multicultural land. The ethnic population of the land majorly consists of Islam, a common religion practiced in West Africa, Christianity which is the second most common religion followed in Nigeria, Hinduism where mostly all Hindus inherit and approached from India, and Chrislam in which values and cultures are learnt from a combination of the Islamic Quran and the Christian Bible. Being the two most dominant ethnic populations, the Christians and the Muslims populations often a have large disagreements. Lately the inter-ethnic conflicts that took place have devastated the country. The country was spread with disaster; a minimum of 500 people brutally killed and at least a double of that figure were injured. Now although people of both sides have rage filled within them they have chosen to rather not interact with each other.
