Do You Agree With The Juvenile Justice System

In my opinion, we have several alternatives if we do not try juveniles in adult court for serious crimes. There is no doubt that there are some cases beyond hope, but children are more susceptible rehabilitation. My methods are trying to incorporate that as much as possible, especially for the younger children with brains that are still trying to develope. ¨Reforms efforts must place a greater focus on improving access to mental health services for all youth, better serving the needs of youth who are involved in the juvenile justice system, and creating effective alternatives to traditional residential placement facilities. Proper treatment and rehabilitative services can help many youth currently in the juvenile system become healthy and productive members of society,” David Gottesman writes. I wholly agree with idea to provide children with more access to mental health services. I feel that this can be embedded and used in a variety of ways. Not only can this be used as a preventive method, but it can be incorporated and used for rehabilitation. The other option is also to place them in Juvenile Detention Center rather than adult prison.
In order to harness and utilize this, I suggest that we enforce classes such as anger management, or send the individuals to a full-on rehabilitation center as part of their sentence to see if they show improvement. I make this suggestion based on previous adult cases. As you may or may not know, a vast amount of the inmates in prison are mentally ill or unstable people; that has affected their decisions, ultimately landing them in jail. In documentaries the inmates have shown wonderful results when being treated as a patient, receiving the proper and diligent care and treatment necessary.
