Does Knowledge Give You The Power In Animal Farm By George Orwell
Knowledge is the key to all success and happiness. If people don’t have knowledge, it is easy for them to be manipulated and taking advantage of and that's what George Orwell shows in the book Animal Farm. Many people take knowledge for granted and don't appreciate it. The people that don't appreciate knowledge are the people that don't know what's going on and are not prepared. Knowledge can be dangerous if it falls into the wrong hands because knowledge gives people power and power is everything. In the book Animal Farm it shows clearly how knowledge can give you the power. The pigs are the smartest bunch of the animals so they use their knowledge to get the other farm animals on their side. Little does the animal know these are self serving
and only care about themselves. The animals don't wanna believe that the pigs are self serving and that life was better when they had a human farm owner. This book is a direct allegory of communism in Russia In 1917 two revolutions swept through Russia ending Czar Nicholas II reign. The revolution was started by Vladimir Lenin, he is considered the founder of the Communist party. In Animal Old Major is considered Vladimir Lenin, he was the one to start everything and get the animals on his side. Vladimir Lenin did the same thing by getting the Russian people on his side. Old Major says that “ Those of us who are capable of it are forced to work to the last atom of our strength.” Now in the book the animals are in control of the farm and forced the humans out. Things seem to be better than before. One day the animals notice that all the milk they had disappeared.
Later they found out that the pigs took it and used it for their own food. This is only the first of many corrupted things the pigs do. The Animal Farm is now completely corrupted by the pigs and it is obvious that life was better back when the humans were in control. The pig Napoleon is now in charge and he represents Joseph Stalin, he created his own army of dogs to take control by force. Since the other animals aren't educated the pigs are manipulating and brainwashing them to actually believe that life is better now than it was before. This is the same strategies Joseph Stalin used to force himself into power.
