Does The World Contribute To One Person Or One Group?

Does the world belong to one person or one group? No, it does not, why because we are all human, we all have the same capability. The planet earth is split up into different regions yet they are all connected through the ocean, clouds, gravity, and currents. If something happens to the earth it not only affects that place, but the rest of the planet. That appears to be the same for the human race we live in these regions. Just because something may happen in different country, does not mean it would not affect the rest of the world, on the contrary, history has shown us that the world is connected as WWI and WWII were an outcome of differences that do not harmonize. Over the course of history people have been harassed, exiled and killed for being different. Today the world has prospered, but groups are still separated by race, gender, religion, ethnicity, and culture. Diversity, the meaning behind it, is to coexist and interact with people who are
different from one another, to get along and agree and respect each other. A group of people should not be above another, everyone should be equal. In today’s society diversity is progressing and increasing.
More people are becoming open to allowing other races and cultures to have more chances to be equal. A place where diversity hits every corner would be an airport, there are millions of people going through one space. Everyone gets along no matter what race, religion and language you speak, they are there for the same purpose to get to a destination. When someone thinks of an airport it is never one race, language or religion, they picture a place where people are walking and every sound that is heard, maybe a language you have never heard of. Another place you think of and never picture a majority of one specific group is Disney World. There are millions of people at Disney World, who come from all parts of the world and the name is quite ironic, since a place who has world seems to be the most diverse since the world does come there. Diversity may be everywhere it is the point of allowing it and being okay with having differences between other
people. The article, Still Hyphenated Americans, written by Juliannne Malreaux, talks about the differences and the reason why a hyphen is still used in African-American, Mexican-American and so on. Malreaux talks about the differences that people have and that they should not keep their cultural ways from keeping them from being fully American. American can still be in the name because they believe in America, but the people do not forget where they came from or who they are. To take away the hyphen is to take a part away from the person as a whole. Diversity is about accepting others realizing where they come from and who they and learning from each other. “We hyphenated Americans are merely celebrating the hyphen that history handed us.” Signifying that there past will never be forgotten, but the future should be bright for those who are different. According to the people diversity is still being worked on. One day hopefully a utopian society can be formed where the differences of people are able to live in unity with one another. Diversity is being different, but seeing everyone the same. The more you understand something the more educated a person becomes to accept a group. If we are able to live in place where no discrimination is placed upon any person no matter how different they may appear, then the world may one day be able to advance as one in order to help the world around. To help feed hunger and stop disastrous things that are happening in the world. To be diverse is to be together.
