The novel “the curious incident of the dog in the night-time” written by Mark Haddon revolves around an autistic boy called Christopher. The protagonist of this murder mystery novel is Christopher; a fifteen year-old single child who had a remarkable talent for math although lacks much social skill and dislikes being touched. Like many autistic sufferers Christopher loves pets and has one of his own, a pet rat. His decisions are always based on logic and he never allows emotions to cloud his mind and way of thinking. Christopher lives with his father whose only intentions are to protect Christopher and to keep his life as orderly as possible. Ever since father told Christopher about his mother’s death, it has only been them two at the house. Father is incredibly patient with his autistic son and allows his life to be controlled by his requires.

The novel takes place in a village, which has been Christopher’s home his entire life. There is a special school where Christopher goes to although the story mostly remains in the house because of Christopher’s fear of new places and meeting strangers.
Shears, Christopher’s neighbor, when Christopher finds Mrs. Shears dog Wellington on the grass dead with a garden fork impaled in his chest. Christopher’s love for animals causes him to wonder why he had been killed and by whom. This also motivates him to write his own book about himself as being a detective, determined to find whom the murder was. As Christopher fights his demons of talking to strangers and going to new places, he goes around asking people down the road if they have witnessed anything about the Wellington case. Even though his father insisted that he must stay out of people’s business and to end his nonsense detective game, Christopher keeps pushing to find the truth about Wellington, and when he does, it turns his world
