In some Central American countries you say “ buen provecho” when you serve food to someone, and it is also customary to say “ muchas gracias” after the meal.     During Franco’s regime Spain became isolated from democracy, he had followed Primo de Rivera’s dictatorship which resulted in the Spanish Civil War.
