The puzzles and games, which participants enjoyed and believed were important to keep their minds active, were found to keep the brain healthy. The personality domain revealed the mixed findings regarding changes to personality, participants believing their personality has remained the same. Participants believed they had gained wisdom as a result of their age and experiences. However it was found that an individual can be considered wise at any age. The social domain revealed Mary’s feelings of loneliness, which were consistent after the loss of a spouse. The importance Lisa and John placed on their family for social interaction was found to be a common experience for older adults who live independently and do not have many friends. The physical domain revealed that all participants suffered from a chronic disease. However, they all believed their health was good, as a result of continuing to be active. This was consistent with research, which found that individuals who are active believe they are healthy compared to individuals who are not active.
