Recommendation and supporting arguments for the selection of appropriate ERP system for a business entity in hospitality industry:
We have interviewed Mr.Carlos for knowing about the ERP software used Hilton International hotel which is OnQ software as ERP software, this has current challenges associated with it which is
1)Hard to update and keep tracking preferences of individual customers
2)Customer preferences are dynamic and it fails to meet of the need to make some new things.
3)Expensive while satisfying the need of customers
1)Hard to update and keep tracking preferences of individual customers:
Every day in Hilton hotels many customers come in and they have specific preferences many of them are business executives which comes frequently for the business purposes and they have specific interests which is important for growing business.
2)Customers preferences are dynamic and it fails to meet the need:
The customer preferences changes every time by several factors for example for business trip the expense could be more than a holiday trip and the features of need could be different every time and same features offering repeated time can become obsolete after some time so they need to have variations in their products.
3) Expensive while satisfying the need of customers:
It is important to use a software which is efficient and effective while the price less costlier but the current software is a failure to do so. It is actually cutting the budget from other expenses. It is not also maximizing the profits with minimizing the expenses.
1)Management priorities resulting in organizational priorities :
a) The chosen ERP which Hilton International hotels are using is OnQ had some management priorities which the given ERP should be addressed which are explained below.
This current software must address the problem of being having limited exposures which is it works only as customer information system software but it need to be expanded

In my opinion, in response to the Starwood’s strategy, the solution for Hilton’s dilemma should be market development which is developing new market from current products or services. Hilton can avoid increasing its cost by showing customers Hilton has more and better benefits. There are several reasons for this solution. Firstly, HHonors Program has been a good service program for Hilton. On the other hand, Starwood’s Preferred Guest announcement was a strategy to their less effective frequent-guest program. As it shown on the case, “they changed it every few years”. Secondly, it is risky to compete with them by increasing the cost and adding the features Starwood added. It is because the lower cost-effectiveness will hurt the profit of the whole hotel industry eventually. Also, if Hilton can have the same or more amount of business with lower costs compared to other competitors, Hilton earns more profits. The last but not the least, it is important to market and consolidate the Hilton brand nowadays. We need to let customers know how superior Hilton is than other hotels to attract and retain consumers.…
