Dory Demolition Strengths And Weaknesses
Dory Demolition has three leadership strengths from the trait theory that is clear to see in her abilities to be the vice president of Company A. The first strength is her self-confidence which is evident in the decisions she makes without blinking an eye. Per the article that Kirkpatrick and Locke have published, one of the most important traits a leader should have is self-confidence. (Kirkpatrick, Locke, & Maryland, 1991) When North Carolina Medicaid changed administrative companies that would process Medicaid patient health claims in July 2013 it was expected that delays in payment would occur. Cognitive ability is enormous amounts of information that a leader must be able to gather, interpret, and integrate without impacting the organization negatively. (Kirkpatrick, Locke, & Maryland, 1991) Dory Demolition has the amazing ability to keep multiple entities functioning which is why she was made the vice president not only of Company A but also a subsidiary Company P. The president of Company A, Dr. Allen went out to the community to small practices and offered to assist them with their billing and collection process. This is how Company P was established in 2010. Dr. Allen saw the abilities that Dory kept all the entities functioning within Company A that he added Company P to Dory’s responsibilities. Company P was on a different billing system than Company A. Dory learned the system that Company P was using and became an expert of that system while still running the day-to-day operations of Company A. She combined the bi-weekly meetings between Company A and Company P to get both companies on the same page as much as possible. In April of 2014, Company A and Company P were transitioned to the new Epic EHR system under Dory’s direction. It has made the organization larger and more efficient.
