We were both looking for jobs in Oklahoma and soon I found an office job just around the corner from the Oklahoma federal building. The day of the bombing was a regular day for me going to work, I had just moved here, I was 23 years old trying to provide for my family. I was in a hallway at work when I saw the building explode, I saw fire and papers fly everywhere. First thought that came to my head was I need to get to a phone. I found a pay phone and I soon as I dialed the phone to call my wife the phone shut off. Next thing I know I’m running to my white truck all I see is black soot all over the hood of my car. My wife was so shocked to see all the soot on my car though and to see how large of impact bomb had on everyone in the area. Later that week my wife and I for the next couple months decided weather to go back to Washington or stay in Oklahoma. We stayed in Oklahoma and had 4 kids, I had never really gone back down to that area till my daughter was about 10 years old performing in ballet recital. The bombing did not dramatically change me, I had just moved here so everything was so new to me. I was shocked and I hadn't ever seen a building blow up, the bombing let me be more aware of my surroundings also people in my area. This hasn’t changed my attitude towards the government, I was never really politically involved. My advice for students of today as OKC bombing is remembered is to watch the news and what is going on in the world
