Down The Street Analysis
Preston and the Creature from Down the Street

What if you knew a carnivorous, long domesticated mammal was living in almost every neighborhood in America, and their very intent was to seek out and destroy every person that could see right into their heart. And If they can't catch that person then they'll go and kill a much smaller animal. An animal that they have hated since the day these creatures were but on this earth, and they want to show you how much they hate that animal by showing how they killed it over and over again, by killing rodents.

One cold, fall day on Lone Elm road, my neighbor Reese and I were out practicing how to punt a football when we saw a small vicious creature flash by on their street, and then it came back and stopped

Then Reese asked “can i punt it towards you like a football.”

“Sure” I answered. Reese trusted the creature into the air with all of his might and when it came back down it crashed into Reese's foot and went gliding through the air and plummeted to the concrete like it fell from the clouds. I went up to it and I could smell the creature and it smelt like one hundred year old fish. I picked it up and threw it back down the street before it could run away.

He looked at us and said “ you didn't see anything.” Then he disappeared back into his car and just left.

After about one minute after he left Reese said “ He didn't look very reposeful”. I went up to the cat and poked what was left of it with a

Looking back at my encounter with the ”Shovel Man”, also known as counselors pranking the campers. More than anything, it reveals how a scary event in your life can turn out to be completely different than it seemed at the time. For me, my imagination ran wild and I believed I was in a “near death” experience, when in reality it was just a harmless prank. It is important to keep things in perspective when you are in a frightening situation and not act in the heat of the…

It showed no further interest in the calves, and no disposition to harm them" (Twain 526). It is true that an anaconda will not kill more then it will eat, but what about other animals? Twain states that man alone engages in robbing territory from those who are weaker, and that man is the only species that kills just for the pleasure of it. In August, 2009, there were 120 sheep killed near Dillon, Montana by a pack of wolves. Several of the sheep were eaten but most were just left to rot. Dolphins have been known to kill porpoises, just for the sport of it. The dolphins do not eat the porpoises. It has been documented that coyotes will kill chickens and eat only the heads. In fact, officials use chicken heads to vaccinate coyotes against rabies. I have personally watched as my cat tortured a mouse for two hours before she finally killed it. My cat did not eat, or even look at, the mouse once it was dead. These animals are just as ruthless and wasteful as the earl in Twain's…

Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli says he is worried that a new District of Columbia law that governs how pest control operators must handle rats may result in entire rodent “families” being relocated across the Potomac River into Virginia by D.C. pest control personnel.Lately, there have been reports of growing rat infestations around the Occupy DC protests at Freedom Plaza and McPherson Square.Cuccinelli said D.C.'s new rat law--the Wildlife Protection Act of 2010 (Wildlife Protection Act of 2010.pdf) --is “crazier than fiction” because it requires that rats and other vermin not be killed but captured, preferably in families; no glue or snap traps can be utilized; the rodents must be relocated from where they are captured; and some of these animals may need to be transferred to a “wildlife rehabilitator” as part of their relocation process.…
