There are many different types of media available to be adaptations. The types that society is exposed the most to are thought print, film, and television. However, some others include video games, music, painting, and photography. An adaptation is any of these types of media that relate, no matter how minute, to the original work. A popular film that is an Jekyll and Hyde adaptation is The Incredible Hulk. Dr. Bruce Banner is exposed to an extreme amount of Gamma Radiation that should have killed him. Instead, it transformed him into a man that is able to turn in to a large green being. The way he turns into this being is not by a potion like Jekyll and Hyde. If Bruce Banner’s anger becomes out of control, the change begins, whether he wants it or not. Later on, Banner learns to control his heart rate, and keep is anger at bay. …show more content…

In 2008, NBC released a television show, My Own Worst Enemy, starring Christian Slater. The series follows a man, Henry Spivey, who lives the typical suburban life; wife, kids, dog, and minivan. However, Henry turns into Edward Albright, a man who is a lethal operative, completely opposite to Henry. The adjustments in this adaptations include: different last names, different occupations, love interest with children, and set in modern time. Another television adaptation is another NBC program, Do No Harm. This adaptation is more similar to Stevenson’s novel than the previous television adaptation listed above. In this series, the main character is a medical doctor. However, some adjustments include: the changing of names, Dr. Henry Jekyll us Dr. Cole and Edward Hyde is Ian Price, love interest, and placed in the modern era. Both television series were not successful, only lasting one short season, My Own Worst Enemy airing 9 episodes, and Do No Harm airing
