Dr. Seuss Thematic Unit Plan

This Dr. Seuss thematic unit plan will help second grade students use the six different language arts along with different academic content areas. Students will use a variety of learning strategies and activities that allow all students to understand many lessons. The students will become aware of the many Dr. Seuss books available to them in the classroom and library. The students will use literature to develop phonemic awareness and use sight words related to other units they previously done in the classroom. The students will recall and expand on addition and subtraction with reading Dr. Seuss book, One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish. Various discussions will be used in the classroom such as, literature circles, interactions, and social
