Drinking and Tattoos done in excess is sinful and draws Christians away from God.
Alcohol isn’t condemned in the Bible
The Bible doesn’t say alcohol itself is bad
Paul tells Timothy “Stop drinking only water , and use a little wine because of your stomach and frequent illnesses” Solomon wrote “Go , eat your food with gladness and drink your wine with a joyful, for God has approved what you have done
Jesus turned water into wine for the guests in The Wedding at Cana
“Now he came again to Cana in Galilee where he made water into wine”
The Bible isn’t clear on Christians getting tattoos
No marks on our body
“You shall not make any cuts in your body for the dead, nor make any tattoo marks on yourselves: …show more content…
I am the Lord."
Our body is a Temple of God so permanent tattoos destroy it
“Do you not know that you are God's temple and that God's Spirit dwells in you?
If anyone destroys God's temple, God will destroy him. For God's temple is holy, and you are that temple. “
Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.
Drunkeness is a sin
The Bible warns against drunkenness
Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortionists will inherit the kingdom of God.” * The Bible is clear that drunkards will not inherit the Kingdom of God.
Let us walk properly, as in the day, not in revelry and drunkenness, not in lewdness and lust, not in strife and envy.”
Drunkeness leads to poor judgement
“And Noah began to be a farmer, and he planted a vineyard. Then he drank of the wine and was drunk, and became uncovered in his tent. And Ham, the father of Canaan, saw the nakedness of his father, and told his two brothers outside. But Shem and Japheth took a garment, laid it on both their shoulders, and went backward and covered the nakedness of their father. Their faces were turned away, and they did not see their father’s
nakedness”
“Who has woe? Who has sorrow? Who has contentions? Who has complaints? Who has wounds without cause? Who has redness of eyes? Those who linger long at the wine, Those who go in search of mixed wine. Do not look on the wine when it is red, When it sparkles in the cup, When it swirls around smoothly; At the last it bites like a serpent, And stings like a viper. Your eyes will see strange things, And your heart will utter perverse things” * * * *
