FASD stands for fetal alcohol spectrum disorders. This helps range conditions of FASD from mild to severe. There is alcohol-related neurodevelopmental disorder (ARND), fetal alcohol effects (FAE), alcohol-related birth defects (ARBD), fetal alcohol syndrome (FAS), and the most severe is fetal death. Children with the condition of ARND have functional or mental troubles which are connected to prenatal alcohol exposure. FAE was a term used to characterize children with behavioral and cognitive troubles who were prenatally exposed to alcohol. FAE does not have the same common diagnostic effects of FAS. Children with the condition of ARBD might have problems with bones, kidneys, heart, and hearing. Out of all the disorders, FAS is the worst. Children with FAS have a lifelong condition with mental and physical disabilities. FAS is one of the leading causes for mental retardation. Examples of some of the obstacles children with FAS might have to face is poor impulse control/judgement, bad school performance, problems with attention and memory, trouble with mathematical skills, communication, vision, hearing, or maybe just trouble with a few of these. There are also secondary conditions that a child might acquire along with FAS. These children who are affected with an FASDs are at a very high risk for criminal behavior, not complete education, unemployment, and psychiatric
