SET 1:
The body found behind the old cathedral in Spain is an adult male. That is because a body with a sub pubic angle of less than 90 degrees is a male. This person is an adult because the sutures of his skull have completely fused. This person also had scoliosis because that is what having a lateral curvature to your upper thoracic vertebrae indicates along with having a very small scapular spine on the left side and a very large scapular spine on the right side. The large hole in the frontal bone indicates some sort of brute force to the skull which may have been the cause of this person’s death. This person also had missing teeth which was indicated by the alveolar sockets missing from the maxilla and mandible.
SET 2:
The body that has been taken for analysis from the Chinese burial ground is an adult male. He is an adult because his femur is 50cm long which is around the average height and the epiphyseal discs are completely ossified so he is not going to grow anymore. He is a male because his pelvis is narrow and the pelvic outlet is small. This man was in good shape because the deltoid tuberosity, tibial tuberosity, and linea aspera are very distinct and well developed and his bone density is heavy which means he exercised a good amount. The circular hole in the temporal bone with edges that are smooth and well healed may indicate that this man may have had some sort of surgery to release pressure inside the skull.
SET 3:
The partially decomposed body unearthed is most likely a young female. The person found was young because even though their phalanges have completely ossified their femur and humerus still showed signs of growing by having epiphyseal cartilage. This person also is young because her humerus contains all red marrow and no yellow marrow. The person is a female because the pelvic angle is greater than 90 degrees. This female also may have been pregnant because of the loose and flexible sacroiliac joint and pubic
