In his mind Ludwig believes himself to be a female, even though his body is that of a boy. There is little to no doubt throughout the movie by the kid that he believes he is a female, even when everyone else around him disagrees. This would have made an interesting observation to Descarte as his belief of duality would have existed solely on one child. I would believe that Descarte would have agreed with Ludwig that his mind does not have to match his body, and that his mental state of a female is more important that what he physically is.The separation of the physical and mental would have been enough to convince Descarte that there is two beings in humans, that the body is just a tool for the
