Urban sprawl is becoming the subject of analysis through modern decades concerning the management of urban growth. It described the expansion of human populations away from central urban areas into rural areas, following the outward expansion of cities; it is believed that the city of Dubai has followed this method. Each city has shaped its own settlement patterns over time, either through the oldest and most widely quoted models in urban studies which are those of Burgess and Hoyt models, or through more modern-day settlement models. In this investigation, the extent to which Dubai has followed these models, or developed into its own or another will be evaluated.

Shindagha was the smallest area and the main residential district. A series of development projects greatly helped strengthen the city’s position as a center of trade. These included the electrification of Dubai and the dredging of the creek. In this project, the port was deepened through dredging and the building of breakwaters. Financing for these projects was based on oil revenues, after the oil discovery in 1966. Major infrastructure and urban development projects were planned after this. Investments were made in improving road systems, building tunnels, bridges, container terminals, trade harbors as well as the industrial areas; This allowed the city to further expand. Financial, business and administrative centers were established in different parts of the city. British companies required cheap labor, which was available from India and Pakistan. Immigrant labor constituted 50% of Dubai’s population. In terms of transport through this period, boat ferries and bus stops were in close proximity to the residential and commercial
