DUBUQUE USES CLOUD COMPUTING-VIDEO CASE

Answer for question 1:
Smart city refers to city where by real time data concern day-to-day process and the infrastructure of the city can be provided to the citizens. Dubuque use cloud to hold the real time data, which is needed for monitoring the city environment, to determine level of water saved and to know level of electricity individual house consume. All this is for the purpose of archiving their vision of a smart city by having the smart economy, smart environment as well as smart living.
Answer for question 2:
When Dubuque talk about a “smarter city” they mean smarter water means to use resource without losing some, smarter electric means to use electric in a proper way not over use, smarter natural gas means to prevent environment by using natural gas properly, and lastly is smarter travel through improved travel system.
Answer for question 3:
Dubuque has four major “smarter city” projects, which are:-
i) Smarter water. ii) Smarter electric iii) Smarter natural gas. iv) Smarter travel.
Smarter domestic water program resulted to the reduction of water leakage by 6.6% due to the use of system for leakage detection.
Answer for question 4:
Dubuque next move is from the research cloud to the IBM cloud to find what kind of relationship about those things.
Answer for question 5:
Approach taken in Portland is similar to that taken by Dubuque since all they were using cloud from IBM to have the information about the city. Also both cities’ approach aimed at finding the solution of the problems face the city.
