Bosch used bright colors to separate the stories and objects from one another so the viewer can focus and point out every scenario displayed on the panels from the contrasted colors. You can see the richness of bright colors as the sky shines bright over the humans and the structures to the dark tones in hell contrasting from the bright colors. Something that also differs between these two artworks and the artists is the visual feature the image is portraying. When comparing The Last Judgment to The Garden of Earthly Delights, the viewer is brought to the attention of the meaning behind the work. Michelangelo had thoughtfully studied the proportions of the human body to successfully replicate eye-catching physics that appear realistic as Bosch had concerned his studies towards other topics. With anatomy not being as important to Bosch, his body paintings appeared ordinary enough to not have the viewer question why a female looks masculine the way people questioned Michelangelo’s female bodies. However, Michelangelo amazed his viewers with his disegno artworks as they strongly imitated realistic body figures; Bosch had used color value to define the detail he put into work which wasn’t close enough to compare to Michelangelo’s disegno details. Still, more to say, their depiction of religion was nowhere to be compared as well. Michelangelo exceeded his painting with typical religious scenes as they have always been painted that way compared to Bosch who had painted an irregular religious scene, something that wasn’t common during their era. To conclude, Michelangelo and Bosch did have the same knowledge in painting as they knew how to compose a painting through movement, contrast, balance, unity, etc. but were utterly different in terms of time periods and styles. The Last Judgment and The Garden of Earthly Delights differentiate from body portrayal, detail and their meanings behind religion as both artists see it
