People are usually scared of me, and those who are not are trying to shoot me. But she was different among all of them.

She gave me something to eat not because he was scared of me, but because she understood what I am going through.

I need to do something for her. I want to help her find the quickest way to her grandma’s cottage.

I finally found it! Should I wait for her? Nope! I better introduce myself now to her grandmother. I bet she is kind like her.

The grandmother lies to the kids about the secret panel. She gets them to whine and complain and finally the father agrees to go. Towards the end of the story O’Connor writes, “I know you come from nice people! Pray! Jesus, you ought not to shoot a lady” (938). Rather than her being worried about her family getting killed, all she is worried about is herself dying. She repeats this a couple times in the rest of the story begging for him to spare her life, not caring about if her family lives or not. A good woman would not worry just about herself. She would worry about the people she cares about…

Strong smells of the damped ground lingered around; the sun laid low in the sky. The night was setting in to be a cold one; winter had never set in so early as this season. The old horseman laid up against the fallen silky oak. Best horseman anyone had ever seen, they said that he was a horse whisperer. He was heading towards the cattle station, everyone wanted to have a glimpse of him.…

It is complex of her to appear to be kind but rebarbative actually. At first, she seemed like very polite and considerate. “She had to stop every minute or so to say good morning to someone” as well as “ask after someone’s health”. (Jackson, 1941, p. 165).Actually, she always wrote letters in sneaky words to stop the evil from her town and “never signed up her name” (Jackson, 1941, p. 163).She thought it could stop the evil but it disturbed other people’s lives.…

Nothing out of the usual, nothing exciting it was just a regular day. Once school was over I walked home and went straight to my room laid down watched some Netflix talked to some friends online, as I do this most days. I took a nap from about 5pm until maybe 7pm and woke up feeling a little under the weather, I felt a bit weak, and had a cough along with a running nose and chest congestion. It’s flu season so I didn’t think much of it, I took some Robitussin around 12am that night just prior to going to bed in hopes of waking up the next morning feeling better. Before going to bed that night I…
