This thought is a hard concept for any normal person to understand. Most people are unable to comprehend this to the extent of Edgar Allan Poe because Poe had seen more lose than anyone could image at a young age (Reynolds).
At this point in the poem, Poe shows the reader something deeper and more interesting than all that he has previously shown us. Edgar Allan Poe says the most interesting line, “ From ev’ry depth of good and ill / The mystery which binds me still—“ (Poe). This one line may be the line where one can empathize with the most as well as where Poe begins to shift the mood of the poem. Both of these shifts are important for the movement in this poem. The reader was intended to feel sorrow and to sympathize with Poe for the reason of this next haft of the poem. Edgar Allan Poe does a wonderful job of changing the tone of this dark poem. He is able to do this by using words such as “fountain”, “Mountain”, and “autumn tint of gold”. These are all pictures of beauty things changes the sad picture that Poe painted previously. The line that shows this evident change best is “In its autumn tint of gold—“ (Poe). This line changes what was once a so much sorrow and turns it into view. One could believe that this Poe’s true intent. An idea that one can have is that Edgar Allan Poe, in spite of being alone, chose to find beauty in this world that was rather cruel to him. This picture grows more and more lovely as Edgar Allan Poe ends his master piece with a line that few can understand. Poe says, “(When the rest of Heaven was blue) / Of a demon in my view—“ (Poe). This line holds so much significance because Poe has already showed the reader that he is able to see beauty in difficult situations but now he goes a step further. He takes it a step further by showing the reader that he has surpassed his obstacle of loneliness because it is “in my view ” (Bennett). The reason Poe said the demon in his view is because he was always be able to see this demon, which is loneliness, but the demon is forever behind
