Edgar Allan Poe's School Work

Edgar went to school at the highest ranking boarding schools by Allan. He would often switch schools and travel from school to school. However, Poe was a remarkable student and made high scores on his school work and was considered one of the brightest kids within his schools. Poe soon grew up and attended the University of Virginia. He did very well in his courses, but was also accumulating a large debt within the one year he attended the school. Allan refused to help Poe with his school debts, he turned to gambling and soon had to money left to stay at the school and was forced to leave the university. Before returning back to Baltimore, where Allan was, he went and joined the United States Military. He served for a total of two years under
the name Edgar A. Perry and attained a rank of sergeant major. He also applied to go to West Point Academy with the military. He went into the academy as a cadet. Poe was able to attend the school for only eight months due to him purposely getting himself kicked out of the program. Once Poe left the school he did not return to do any other schooling anywhere else.
