We live in the world in which education is highly valued. The great majority of parents want their children to be happy and to develop the skills necessary to be successful in life. They think that a good education will guarantee their children’s success, and they try to give the best opportunity for them. In these reasons, parents often restrict their children’s spare time activity by forcing them to learn other such as sport or musical instrument. It can be compared with my parent’s attitude which I mentioned above. I suppose that parent’s harsh demands will be a big burden on their children.
Parents have the most influence over their child’s intellectual, physical and emotional development. It is undeniable that they paly a primary role in their child’s development. However, we should realize that the meaning of “play a role” and “live” are totally different. Parents cannot live their children’s lives for them; they can only be there to assist when things go wrong. If the case that parents expectations will become an unhealthy obsession on their children, too much interferences will put the pressure on them. On the contrary, allowing children to make their own decisions will help them to develop into an independent person.
