This concludes a homogeneity and heterogeneity community of Pratt’s essay in the “ Arts of the Contact Zone”, which she states when the people has a shared culture with each other are equal, and the other who doesn't have a shared culture are different. In other words, the culture/ dialect has created two forms of different communities between the Palestinians and the Jewish people in Israel. The Jewish people represents a homogeneous community as they referred themselves as the dominant dominant, while the Palestinians is a heterogeneous community, which defines them as the ‘ other”. Afterwards, the reason for the Palestinians has formed a community is actually based of their shared experience as well as the suffering of being exiled of their country. The goal of Edward Said was to regain the Palestinians’ self identity based on the representation of the photographs back in Israel as they were in exile of their former country. He also used some of the people from other different countries’ representations to the Palestinians to support his statement.
