“Hamas,” which is a Palestinian Sunni-Islamic organization. During Hitler’s rise in power, the amount of Jews immigrating into Palestine grew, causing greater conflict between the two groups. In 1947 the United Nations decided to intervene by having an outside power divide up other people’s land. Pressured by the Zionists, the UN recommended assigning 55% of Palestine to a Jewish state, even though the group only represents 30% of the population. Israel continued to gain more land.

The Balfour Declaration was a letter dated 2 November 1917 from the United Kingdom's Foreign Secretary Arthur James Balfour to Walter Rothschild, 2nd Baron Rothschild, a leader of the British Jewish community, for transmission to the Zionist Federation of Great Britain and Ireland. The letter mentioned "that Palestine should be reconstituted as the National Home of the Jewish people." In the final text, the word that was replaced with in to avoid committing the entirety of Palestine to this purpose. It expressed the British government’s support for a Jewish homeland in Palestine. The Husayn-McMahon correspondence was several letters exchanged in 1915 and 1916, between Ḥusayn ibn ʿAlī, emir, and Sir Henry McMahon, from Egypt. The correspondence traded the british support of an independent Arab state for the Arab support of opposing the Ottoman
Empire. The Yom Kippur War, which is also referred to as the Ramadan War, was initiated by Egypt and Syria in October of 1973, which was during the Jewish holy day of Yom Kippur. The Camp David Accords were signed by the Egyptian President and Israeli Prime Minister on the 17th of September, 1978, after twelve days of secret discussions at Camp David. Hezbollah is an Islamist militia, political party, and a designated terrorist organization. The group is responsible for the 2006 war between Israel and Hezbollah. Over the next two years, the United States and other nations moderated discussions between Israeli and Palestinian leaders, and, in 1993, at the 11th round of peace talks, Israeli Foreign Minister Shimon Peres announced that Israel and the PLO reached a land-for-peace deal in Oslo. "Intifada" is a term that translates into English as "uprising." It has been used in the meaning of the uprisings in various Arab countries. The term is most often used to refer to a revolt against the Israeli occupation of the Palestinian Territories. In September 2010, Benjamin Netanyahu agreed to enter negotiations with the Palestinians for the first time in a long while.The ultimate aim of these direct talks is to draft a final agreement in the Israeli–Palestinian conflict by forming a solution between the Jewish people and the Palestinian people.
