Music Critique Paper- Edward Scissor hands The music composer of the film Edward Scissor hands is Danny Elfman. Danny Elfman grew up in Los Angeles and is a composer, singer and songwriter. He started a career as an actor and then in 1982 he scored his first film. He was a fan of the composers Bernard Herrmann and Franz Waxman. Danny was nominated Grammy Awards, Emmy awards and many more he won about thirty-four awards. Danny has composed for a number of films and T.V shows. Some of them being Alice in Wonderland, Batman, Corpus Bride and The nightmare before Christmas. In composed for the film Edward Scissorhands in 1990 and one of the track from the movie was consider the best in the history of film. The main credit for Edward Scissorhands gives the introduction a mysterious feel played by instruments such as violins and strings and bells. Throughout the main credit there sounds like a choir where they say “ooh”, that gives it a spooky feeling with the darkness and machinery. After the main credit, when the snow is falling the music tone lowers down and gives the scene a much calmer tone. The violin goes along with the winter night and the snowflakes falling down.
While she is driving up to the house the music captures the eagerness to see the inside of the mansion. When she is inside the mansion the percussion of the music delivers the eagerness to find who lives in the mansion. The music also gives the ghostly feel when seeing the objects around the house.
