Pronunciation is an integral part of foreign language learning, so finding deferent ways to improve such skills would be a mental disturbance of any language instructors. Here I’m going to offer a proposal to make use of movies for improving pronunciation. So he objective of this study is to determine the effect of watching movies on improving pronunciation skills. In order to reach the objective, I randomly selected 50 intermediate students, and then they were divided into 2 groups, namely experimental and control. Each group consists of 25 students. The concept of communicative approach gave a new meaning to theories, methods, and definitions. According to this approach, students are assessed on their level of communicative competence rather than the explicit knowledge. Pronunciation as a key part of a language directly affects learners’ communicative competences. He examines whether English movies with and without subtitle can help to improve Iranian intermediate learner’s speaking ability. He came to this conclusion that after 8 sessions of studying, watching movies with or without subtitle both cause improvement in speaking ability of learners although the group who had watched movies with subtitle has considerable improvement in speaking ability in compare with those who had watched movies without subtitle.
