Introduction:
I. Background of the study There was a time when the endless summer for a child referred to hours spent
Basketball and badminton courts or even romping with neighborhood kids. Kids still do all these things but today’s kids have more ways of having fun including hours and hours in front of computer games playing interactive game contests that can feature a lot of blood and gore. Discussion on computer games and gaming culture has been vivid during the recent few years. Unfortunately , most of the debate has been biased and based on hearsay instead of study. It seems that there is a need for generation of academics that have grown up playing this games before the gaming culture gets proper attention. Unfortunately, then it will be too late.
The revolution is happening now. Electronic game is one of the newest types of games. Most of the games are controlled by a computer and connected at a viewing screen called a video screen. Most of these games are based on traditional board games on target games. Playing video games has become almost as popular as watching television.
The vast majority of school children play video games Some educators and parents charged that young people spend too much time and money playing video games. Other people argue that playing electronic games helps them develop their reflexes and concentration. It also introduces them towards the use of computers. Thus, all these address the growing problem of student’s attitude toward studying.

Computer Games are defined as any types of activity performed on screen

They wake up and repeat the same routine the following day. To Bragg, the transformation to an adult is very grim; because it means more responsibility. Jobs have priority and take up more time, leaving little to no free time to do the enjoyable things. Nevertheless, summertime as a kid is entertaining, but the memories will have to do because as adults, jobs take priorities in life.…

The amount of information researched on the psychological effect was a lot and thus the topic question for the research was then changed to “the psychological effect of video games on children”. The main reason for researching this topic was the fact that there are a lot of young children in the world who play immensely violent games. Many children and their parents ignore the game rating. Many parents do not understand the adverse effect that those video games would have on the young child’s growing brain. Personally, I feel that video games can be the cause of aggressive behavior among people, because exposure to games containing violent images has been proven to impact individuals’ mindsets negatively. I agree with Dr. Michael Rich, in that he explains this influential power in regard to violent video games when he states: “Players might be quicker to throw a punch during a disagreement or even carry a weapon to school, simply because they see so much of that on the screen” (Television and Video Games 1). Dr. Rich’s statement explains that viewing violent actions over time causes a person to become accustomed to seeing violent behavior, which can make it easier for that person to behave in that same way himself. In addition, video games can be addictive, and can be distracting from important parts of everyday life. In other words, teenagers are spending more time playing video games than doing homework, or studying, which is influencing their futures in a negative way. Also, video games can even have a negative impact on health in that they can cause a strong addiction. Next, video games can cause aggressiveness as well as violence. Video games are having a negative impact among people because they can be distracting, can influence health, and can cause violence.…
