Egg Drop Report
Egg Drop Report For this I wrapped an egg in bubble wrap and put it in a Ziploc bag blown up with air. I put another Ziploc around the first and filled it with water, and then put a larger Ziploc around that and filled it with water. This was to lessen the impact by allowing the egg to float and bob in the water. When dropped both water bags exploded as expected, absorbing the force. Others used parachutes, which worked well when used correctly. For example, smaller and taller chutes really didn’t do much, but the larger and flatter chutes worked very well. Material choice for the parachutes was also very important, duct tape parachutes where far too heavy. Materials such as plastic used to make garbage bags worked because they were light

My name is Madison Johnson. I am in the 9th grade. I am in Mrs. Logan’s biology class. I am doing my project on “The Magic Floating Egg”. Eggs sink in normal tap water and I am testing whether or not changing the density of water will make the egg float. I was looking at projects on sciencebuddies.org and I saw that multiple people had done this. I am trying to prove that when you add a certain amount of salt to water, it will make it more dense. I took pictures of the results. This information can be useful because we can test the density of salt water versus the density of normal tap water..…

My project was constructed by using simple materials that could be found around the house and were transformed into a protective device for two Grade A Large Eggs. The materials of my project are cardboard, tape and a hot glue gun. I used a cardboard box whose flaps folded in over top, but taped open the flaps so that the height would meet the 20 cm minimum requirement. I made sure the width was less than 50 cm so that the bumpers would not exceed the maximum. I then cut pieces of cardboard equal to the length of the long and short sides of the box. I loosely rolled each piece of cardboard and taped them so that they would not roll open. Next, on the long sides of the box I taped the rolls of cardboard to the box horizontally and on the short sides I taped them vertically. I applied a lot of tape to make sure they would be held in place during the crashes. To keep the eggs from rolling around the big box, I secured them in two smaller boxes. I secured the eggs in the smaller boxes by rolling a piece of cardboard about an inch in width around the egg to create a holder. The egg can easily slide in out of the holder, but not easily enough to fall out once a force is applied. I taped the holder to smaller squares of cardboard and taped them down to the bottom of the smaller box. Each small box had the same construction. Finally, to secure the smaller boxes in the big box, I hot glued them down in the center of the box.…

    Egg Drop Project Essay

For this project, I made a capsule for an egg that is to be dropped from about twenty feet. This capsule that I made was not what I was thinking at first but when I started to build it, I saw that this capsule would hold better than the one that I was thinking which was a triangular capsule with the egg in the middle but I saw later one that the egg would break if it hit one of the flat sides. The capsule is a cube that is made out of the tongue depressors and I used most of the yarn for the big cage and I used the Elmer’s glue to glue the tongue depressors together. I used pieces of the paper clips to hold the popsicle sticks together with the tongue depressors and some more glue. I then made the center, which was made by two popsicle sticks that I had which formed into a triangle and I made a little railing around it with the paper clips. I then put the cotton puffs inside the triangle that was formed with the two popsicle sticks and it is used to cushion the egg while it’s falling so when it hits the floor, then it wouldn’t receive all the damage if the cage were to break and the small egg holder were to fall out of the capsule or if it were to hit the floor straight. I used the pipe cleaners to hole the egg inside the egg holder so that it doesn’t fall out of it and break. I used some glue to glue the cotton puffs to the railing that was made for the egg holder and to the two popsicle sticks.…

Think about different materials that are used to make sports balls. Why don’t we use just one type of material for tennis balls, baseballs, and golf balls? Since each ball must behave differently in play, the material making up each one must be different, too. In this experiment, you will characterize how different materials behave when they are dropped.…

After going around the moon the crew had to shut off all power to save it for reentry into the atmosphere. During this process the crew also ran into the problem of limited oxygen. With the help of experts in Houston they were able to create an air filter. Although there were many problems in their flight they were still able to make it back to earth proving the amazing advancement of technology in the era of 1950 through…

They were also used in 1862 during the Fredericksburg Campaign, the Chancellorsville Campaign in 1863, the Battle of Seven Pines on May 31st, and the Battle of Mechanicsville on June 26th. The Confederate and the Union had balloons present at the Battle of Seven Pines. Both sides used balloons during the Civil War but the Union was more successful in getting usable information. The Confederate Army had to make their balloons out of silk dress fabric. They also did not have a steady amount of gas to fill their balloons so the use was limited. Before the use of balloons soldiers could not see the war zone from above. The balloons helped the Union Army observe the location and artillery obtained by the Confederates. The Union also made maps through this bird's eye view. The use of these balloons was the second major example of balloons being used as military weapons. Without the use of these balloons, Lowe and the Aeronauts couldn’t have helped thousands of men involved in the various campaigns. In 1863 the Balloon Corps was abandoned. Many officers managing Lowe’s operations did not see how the balloons were beneficial to the war. Communication between men on the ground and the men in the balloons was very difficult and information was easily interpreted incorrectly. The use of these balloons had many positive impacts but there were also a few technical problems that stopped the program from reaching its full…

Obviously I built this device with some prior knowledge to physics and how to make this device successful. I have learned several equations about force, work, power, height, speed, velocity and a lot more. So with force, f=ma, then I can easily discern what the force of the egg will be. Also, since I know all of these things, than I can figure out all of the physics with just the equations. Also I learned, with these things, that if the force of the egg doesn’t have something to fall into, like cotton or balloons, then it will break, because the force needs to be shared or it takes over the egg. With that, I understood a basis of how the device should be.…

Telling them one student per triangle, do not hold on to the handles garb the parachute itself to hold on, if their on or under the parachute and she says get out they need to get out as fast as possible but safely. She began by having the students practice lifting the parachute up and looking under so they could feel the parachute in the air and then began having them put their knees on it and slowly stressing the slowly crawl into the middle, then the robot walking on top of it and lastly making a dome and getting under the…
