His greek name is Horus and his egyptian name is Heru, and sometimes he was called Horo which means the distant one. Horus was the protector and patron of the pharaoh. Horus soon came the opponent of Seth, another god. Horus and Seth were always on opposite sides. Seth was the embodiment of disorder when Horus was the embodiment of order. Horus represented the daytime sky when Seth represented the nighttime sky. Horus was often considered to be Seth’s brother but the fight between them was eternal. He was often depicted to be a falcon and he often wore a double crown the present higher and lower egypt.
Pyramids Pyramids are one of the most magnificent man-made structures of all time. They were used as tombs for the pharaohs and their queens. Pharaohs were buried in pyramids of different shapes and sizes. All Egyptian pyramids were made out of limestone. There are about 80 pyramids known today that is from ancient Egypt. The three biggest and best preserved are the Giza Pyramids. The most famous pyramid was made for pharaoh Khufu which is known as ‘The Great Pyramid’.
