Electronic cigarettes are also known as e-cigarettes by the general public. E-cigarettes are designed to deliver nicotine with flavorings and other chemicals to users in vapor instead of smoke. They are marketed as a healthier alternative to regular cigarettes. E-cigarettes are produced to resemble traditional tobacco cigarettes, cigars or pipes. E-cigarettes are also designed to look like everyday items. They can look like pens or USB memory sticks for your computer. There are more than 250 different e-cigarette brands currently at stores for the consumer to choose from while shopping. While e-cigarettes are often marketed to the public as a safer alternative to regular cigarettes little is actually known about the health risks presented by e-cigarettes. Cigarette smoking still remains the leading preventable cause of sickness and Lung cancer.Tobacco cigarettes are responsible for over 40,000 deaths in the United States each year. E-cigarettes are designed to be similar and to appear like traditional cigarettes and help simulate the act of tobacco smoking by producing and appealingly flavored aerosol. The e-cigarette tobacco smoke also delivers nicotine but with less toxic chemicals. Regular cigarettes use the burning of tobacco leaves. As safe as the e-cigarettes are perceived to be, testing of the e-cigarettes found the vapor to still contain known carcinogens and toxic chemicals such as formaldehyde and
acetaldehyde.
Are e-cigarettes linked to heart disease? The information about this new subject is becoming to show the light regarding the link of e-cigarettes to heart disease. The most recent information comes from a study from the Onassis Cardiac Surgery Center, in Athens Greece. Researchers at the center presented a study at the annual meeting of European Society of Cardiology, in Germany. This researcher shows that the information he studied shows that electronic cigarettes do not contribute adverse effects on the heart. During the study by the researchers, the heart activity comparison between young tobacco users and e-smokers was compared. Twenty smokers who smoked daily had their hearts examined after using one typical cigarette. Twenty-two vapors used their models for seven minutes. The results showed that tobacco users had the disruptions in the sound of the heartbeats and blood pressure. The E-cigarette data showed that electronic cigarettes are proven to be safer depending on how frequently you do it.
