She finds out that she is expecting twins and tells Lyons that she cannot afford them both so Mrs Lyons offers to take one . After some doubts and swearing on the bible that is. Mrs Lyons gets paranoid of the twins being reunited and fires Mrs J - the boys then meet aged 7 but then Mrs Johnstone and family and Mickey, gets relocated to the country. Mrs Lyons also moves away to the same area and the boys meet up again.
Both twins (Edward and Mickey) fall in love with Linda, Mickey finds out Linda is having an affair with Edward. Many mediums and elements are used in the play in order to enhance and show the different themes and moods in the play like in the scene where Mickey meets Eddie the lighting is a normal light across the stage to show it is a normal day with no negative mood. Both children are stood close together looking at each other closely this body language shows curiosity between both children this make the audience think that they are young children even though the characters are played by adults they use a high pitch voice at a fast temp and big movements and gestures. They use adults so the audience can relate to the story.
Marilyn Monroe is a very clever icon to use throughout the play. This is because using her as a reference sets us in the correct time period. She is also a good symbol, because she has links to many of the themes in the play including death, addiction and beauty.
