Ella Monologue
The air of the night was cool but heavy against the girl's skin. Sweat beaded off of her forehead, but she quickly wiped it off with a rag. The only light came from the moon that peaked through the leaves of the dense canopy above. There was a distinct smell of wood and leaves that filled the air. The night was silent except for the shuffling of a girl that walked down the path clutching a small but bulging bag. All around her was bright as the light reflected off the golden silk that lined her dress. Her feet ached from walking, but she would not stop. She could not stop. The quiet night was interrupted by the soft hoot of an owl. The girl jumped at the sound, frantically looking around her. She clutched her bag even tighter to her body as …show more content…
A plan began to formulate in his mind. He called for his planner and began to plan a ball.
A Few Months Ago
The day that Ella's mother, Lucinda, died was the worst day of her life. All Ella could think about were the last words that her mother said to her.
"Be kind and good to others, and courageous when no one else can be. Always be yourself and never forget to be the girl I taught you to be."
Now she has the dove to be her only company. When Ella was young, she saw her mother tending their garden. One day, as she walked outside, she saw a white dot in the middle of the green grass. As she walked closer she could hear the frantic tweets of the dove. She gently placed her hand under the bird and carried back into the

One day Ella saw that the bird was gone from its bed. She looked all around for the bird. But as she stepped outside, she saw a flash of white and then a small dove perched on a branch of a tree. The dove tweeted at Ella when she walked over.
The bird always stayed near the garden and always came when Ella called for some company. She felt at peace in the garden. As the seasons changed, her father remarried. As soon as they walked into the house with their heads held high, Ella could sense that her life about to change.
Ella simply followed her sisters' orders, as she wanted to be devout and good, as her mother had whispered in her final breath.

One day as Ella was preparing dinner, the stepsisters marched into the kitchen. Before Ella could say a word, Anastasia and Drizella threw the peas into the fireplace.
"This is ridiculous. I just picked these peas out of the fireplace. Why did they throw them in again?"
"Pick them out again," Lady Tremaine simply said in a cold tone. "Why are you questioning me?"
Tears welled up in Ella’s eyes. They threatened to spill out. "You have no right to treat me this way," Ella stated, but her voice wavered.
"What is going on here?" Ella father's finally noticed

Old Lady: loss of Ella had a big change on my life. Ella was my life; I would spend every moment I could with her. I lost appetite and I was replaying memories over and over again. I shut off from the rest of the world and I suffered in silence. Rumbling and screeching roused Luna from her slumber. Turning toward the window that overlooked the city of Canterlot, she removed her sleep mask. A light so intense, so pervasive the azure princess felt heat caress her fur through the curtains of her bed. The low and vexatious screeching raised into a crescendo.…

Both Dove’s and Wilbur’s poems are written from the perspective of an older writer looking back at youth. Although in “5th Grade Autobiography” the author writes of her own youth from a first person perspective whereas the in “The Writer” the author writes about his daughter’s youth from an outside perspective, both wonderfully impart the blissful feeling of childhood through vivid descriptions of the soft and pleasant nuances that make childhood so blissful. Rita Dove shows us her world through the lens of a fifth grader. She envies her older brother despite the fact that he is depicted as young and inexperienced, shown by his poor choice to squat in poison ivy. Her grandparents have a very strong presence and are given just as lively a role as her young brother. Pictures of luminous felines come to mind when she describes her grandmother, a youthful and vibrant staple in her world. Grandfather smells of lemons, a bright, zesty, lively smell, and is imprinted in her life memories of Christmases. Richard Wilber manages to conjure a similarly blissful/childish world encompassed by the sounds of a typewriter, beautiful linden windows, and the majestic and dreamlike positioning of his daughters room. He pulls us further into this blissful illusion by using words and descriptions alluding to a ship, drifting into the deep open water away from the rest of the world.…

And so we came to those days when summer was dead but autumn had not yet been born. It was Saturday noon, just a few days before the start of school. Daddy, Mama, Doodle, and I were seated at the dining room table, having lunch. Suddenly from out in the yard came a strange croaking noise. Doodle stopped eating. "What's that?" He slipped out into the yard, and looked up into the bleeding tree. "It's a big red bird!"…

First, he saw Edda, as she had been when they were children. Her hair crowned her head and when the light caught it, it burned it into a hazy orange. A heavy coat was wrapped around her shoulders and a long blue scarf wrapped smoothly along her neck. Her cheeks were rosy, the cold nipping at her skin. She was smiling, so dazzling it hurt. She reached for him, grabbing his hand, and pulled him along as she ran.…

The sky is clear as the deep blue sea. The main focal point was the bright orange full moon, which is accented by the glitzing stars. The reflection of the moon stretched across the lake in the country pasture to my left. The wavy water caused the moon to move as if it was a boat in the middle of the lake. I strolled along the wooden bridge as the moderate, meek breeze brushed the hairs on my skin and my nose. There was a continuous melody of insects singing, while the owls, frogs, crickets, and other night creatures blended in like background singers. The planes soared through the sky, displaying an array of lights, which appeared to be shooting stars. The deer and foxes, as well as other wildlife, welcomed themselves to their playground as they ran, jumped, crept, and played…
