English 11 Reflection

One of the most challenging aspects of this project was figuring out a way to grade the final speech. We researched other lesson plans and rubrics and finally put together a system we believe will work. The letters written will be only a small percentage of the project’s final grade because we want the focus to fall on the speech presentation. Many points will be given for this speech with much of the criteria involving average speech structure, such as having an intro, eye contact, body language, conclusion, and visual aids. The primary focus of the speech is to share the information the student learned about a culture, so the main grading points cover the content and clarity of the speech. As long as it is easy to follow and other students learn from it, we will have accomplished our goal.
We have developed a plan that will incorporate these skills into an English 11 project. By contacting various countries our knowledge of the world will expand. We have proven the effects of cultural diversity encourages the growth of many skills involved with unity, that by communicating with other nations, we will become aware of different cultures, and that many people agree with us about this fascinating program. We have done the research and nit-picked the details. The only question left: what country do we speak to
