Dear editor,
Regarding the article that published on 16 May 2011 by your company, I am writing this letter proclaiming about the usefulness of the “Living and working in the community” course in English ESL syllabus as a means of expressing my perspectives on HSC courses.
I think this course is very relevant to students according to my knowledge and experience, and unlike the information provided by your article; HSC courses have many beneficial aspects that students all yearn for.
As a immigrant student, I find English and other subjects extremely difficult to learn. However, “Living and Working in the Community” course has provided me with the ability to gain understanding on a different base of English. In contrary with other subjects

    Abstract In recent years, TESOL has called for the study of the social and cognitive factors that affect adult English learners’ participation in formal language learning. This research project investigated the motivational processes of 10 adult immigrant English learners which led them to take an advanced ESL reading course. Using a mix of quantitative and qualitative strategies, the study found that the surveyed group of ESL students chose to engage in advanced language learning in order to, first and foremost, join the dominant language culture and community. Instrumental reasons, though quite important to these students, appeared to be outweighed by the integrative ones. The student’s social identity proved to be a major factor in this process as student motivation often originated in the disjuncture between the learner’s current and desired identities. Furthermore, students viewed language education as a necessary transitional path towards integration and attainment of a desired identity.…

It is a new approach to detect population of creatures compared to previous methods from a ship or a plane. Its method also extends the possibility to count total population. It can be applied to future tracking of those populations. The research team located on the Peninsula Valdes as a test area found 55 probable whales, 23 possible whales, and 13 sub-surface ones from a combination of the very hi-res panchromatic view and a narrow band of wavelengths in the violet part of the light spectrum. They can also trace the journey of some species that are in risk of extinction, like Southern right whales. The director of research said that they would be able to monitor many species, but they would not know their heath status not. According to Prof Vicky Rowntree from the University of Utah, Satellite data would reduce the risk of bird killed by marine mammal researchers when they are flying to survey whales.…
