1. What would you include in a brief summary on the history of the modern environmental movement, from the 1960s to the present? Since 1960 to present it seems our Earth has been increasing in population faster than in prior years although it seems to have a steady flow it still increasing rapidly compared to the 1800’s or so. But since then we have also seen changes to our technology which has had a great impact on our ecosystem for example we now require more resources and factories and certain places we are forced to use vehicles which is causing much pollution or just the simple products that are used which contaminate our water resources.
2. Explain the primary concern over exponential population growth. What promotes exponential population growth? What constrains exponential population growth? Within our history our population has grown at rates that exceed the exponential growth at first it took human population thousands of years to reach one billion but between nineteen ninety-eight through nineteen ninety-nine it was taking twelve years to reach a billion. Resources are a way to promote exponential population growth, in the late eighteenth and early nineteenth century health and food supply had increased which caused for a rapid increase in human population. A constrain for exponential growth would be density dependant limitations which describe how food availability as one example will also decrease human population.
3. What is carrying capacity? Compare predictions for human population growth in developed countries versus developing countries. What will occur if carrying capacity is exceeded?
Carrying capacity is the maximum number of an individual species that can be sustained in an environment without decreasing the capacity of the environment and still be able to sustain the same number in the future. In countries that are already developed countries have already been
