“Let’s wait a few days to see what happens. For the time being, I plan to wash the walk down at least three times a day using bleach. That should take care of it,” Margaret said.

Waiting several minutes, and anxious to know what was going on, putting put on her bathrobe, Margaret went into the hall. Unable to hear anything she tipped toed down the corridor and stopped at the top of the stairway. Changing his mind about calling the police, Andrew got his 357 Magnum from the desk drawer, went down the stairway, planning to shoot anyone in the house. Stopping at the foot of the stairs, he heard a noise in the kitchen. With the gun pointed straight ahead, Andrew went to the dining room, in the moonlight he opened the kitchen door and saw a shabbily dressed man removing Margaret’s, priceless silverware from the drawer.
Turning on the kitchen light, he stuck the gun to the side of the burglar’s head and asked, “What the hell are you doing in my house?”
Dropping several knives and forks on the floor, he answered, “Looking for food, I’m hungry.”

Screaming, Margaret shouted, “Andrew, look out behind you.” Turning around as the burglar dropped the high-priced, statue, breaking it into small pieces, as the thief sat down in the chair, folding his hands in his lap as if nothing happened.
Hitting him on the head with the gun, Andrew cut his forehead. “Now look what you did!" He shouted, wiping the blood on his sleeve. “I ought to shoot you right here. Of course, if I did, the police wouldn’t do a thing to me,” Andrew threatened. “Mister, I’m hungry and scared. Would you please give me some food before you make me call the police? What can I do for you? So that you would let me walk out the door?” He asked, begging for his life and freedom. “Let me think about that for a second. We should take care of him like we did the other ones. What do you say?” Andrew asked jokingly. “He needs to call the police. He could have killed you with that statue. We owe him nothing, let him make the call and learn a lesson,” Margaret said, shrugging her shoulders. “How did he get in here?” Andrew asked. Going over to the kitchen door, “Here is where he came into the house. Being so tired we forgot to lock the door and set the alarm. We need to check it every night.”
