In the time machine a man referred as “The Time Traveler” travels towards an unknown future, there, he realizes Humanity has changed and adapted. He then meets two fractions, one he names the Eloi, and another, which he deducts to be an under version of humanity that has evolved to live underground called the Morlocks. It's here where its first showing who's the favorite race, the Eloi are described as a small and fragile people but they have beauty and are appealing while the morlocks are said to be "filthy and cold" (6,1) as well as "inhuman and malign" (7,1).
