Dilip Chinnaswamaiah, Ruiying Liu, Sandhya Aparna Pashikanti, Yingqi Yang, Hao Zhu Executive Summary The case is about using Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) as the decision support tool to choose the best option to design an office chair for Ergonomics Inc. The goal is to meet or exceed industry standards for strength and durability, in the meanwhile, have the minimum negative influence on the environment during the business process.
Our group would focus on analyzing the pros and cons among the four project options, and figure out other potential impacts to the decision, such as ISO 14000 certification for supplier B, and the groups of stakeholders will be concerned with.
Finally, we would give our conclusion and recommendation for the decision of designing the office chair.

What types of further information aid in making your recommendation?
How might ISO 14000 impact this situation?
What are the impacts on shipping this type of chair?
What groups of stakeholders should Ergonomics be concerned with when making manufacturing and marketing decisions that involve environmental initiatives?
Background
As the case mainly concerns about the influence of the following four aspects, design, waste reduction, life cycle implications and shipping, we would set these as criterions, and analyze the project options as follows:
The four project options:
1. To design and build the chair by internal practice considering environmentally responsibility.
2. To design and produce with Supplier A, who has 10 years business relationship with Ergonomics and reputable in the industry.
3. To design and produce with Supplier B, who has been Ergonomics supplier for 5 years, and has ISO 14000 certification.
4. To wait for effective resources.
