Throughout this book Paul has been always considered weird because he has big bottle glasses. Erik and his parents have told him that he looked at a solar eclipse, which was a lie, and Paul had to find out the truth. He did not remember looking into the eclipse, but that was the story he went by. Erik used Paul’s bad eyesight to his advantage. Another reason Erik
affected Paul was Erik was getting Paul bullied by Paul’s friends, and Erik and his friends. Erik thought he was better than Paul because he was older than him. Also because he was on the football team and his dad talked about “The Erik Fisher football dream” 24/7, not to mention he had trouble seeing.
Latsly, Erik made all Paul’s friends go aways from him. Erik threatened Paul and his friends. Paul had a hard enough time making friends because he big bottle glasses, and now with Erik involved it seemed almost impossible. Lucky enough for Paul he found some amazing friends that stayed with him no matter what. All in all, Erik affected Paul in many different ways including blinding him, getting him bullied, driving his friends away from him. If Erik had loved his brother as he wanted Paul to love him there would be no problems. There is no Buddy like a brother.
