Guidelines: Paper must be typed, double-spaced, with one-inch margins. Be sure to include page numbers,(upper right-hand corner with Last name, a dash, and page number), a title, and a Works
Cited page and in-text citations as needed, with an MLA Style Heading.

General Information
The student will compare and contrast a topic from the list of general topics given below. Students must narrow the general topics to work within the word count requirements.
Caution: Do not wait to decide whether you will have enough information to fully develop your topic. If you need to change topics, see Mrs. Rutter as soon as possible.
Papers that are late (turned in after midnight on the due) will receive a deduction of 5% per day. If there are extenuating circumstances, a conversation with the instructor or a written note will be required explaining the issue. This conversation/note does not guarantee that the instructor will give full, on-time credit, but the information will be taken into consideration. All essays are to be submitted through Canvas. Acceptable formats are doc, docx, or rtf (rich text format).
Be sure that the topics you decide to compare and contrast have enough similarities and differences to present a fully developed paper.
