Evaluating the risks to individuals when using social media
In this report, I will be explaining 4 different risks that individuals have when using social media. Since social media is a large platform there would be consequences for what people do.

Reputation
The individual’s reputation would be at risk when using social media. This is because the user may post a bad status on social media and doing this would cause the reputation of the person to be at risk as the post could impact on other people. If the post has been seen by many people, then many people would view the person as a bad person and they would be known for doing this which is impacting on their reputation. Something could get posted onto social media which the individual doesn’t want other people to see as it would impact on their reputation
This is because when people use social media to upload images or share their location, other people become aware of where that people is and where they have been. So for example if a person was to take a picture with a famous person and upload on to Facebook and the same time and post that they just met this famous person. More people would become more aware as family and friends may start to like and share the post and this would cause more people to become aware of this. The famous person would then have a lot of people bombarding them at once so that they can get a picture or so that they can talk to them. So the risk of social media would be that it would give away a person’s location and it would be bombarded depending on how famous the person is. This would then be a disadvantage foe the famous person as they wouldn’t have any time to themselves and they need to be aware of who they take a picture with as they could just upload onto social media which would attract more people to the location. This would also cause the celebrity to get fed up and they would be able to enjoy what they were
